Act commencement
G.S.R. 843(E), 13 November 2025: selected Act provisions commenced on publication; section 6(9) and section 27(1)(d) are scheduled one year later; most substantive duties and rights are scheduled eighteen months later.
Rules commencement
G.S.R. 846(E), read with G.S.R. 892(E): Rules 1, 2 and 17–21 commenced on publication; Rule 4 is scheduled one year later; Rules 3, 5–16, 22 and 23 are scheduled eighteen months later.
Current official status context
The Press Information Bureau update of 5 August 2026 describes phased implementation over an eighteen-month transition period. It is context, not a substitute for the Gazette commencement instruments.
Editorial boundary
Re-check the Gazette, corrigenda and later notifications before operational or public use. The source date is content metadata, not proof of continuing accuracy.
APP-LOCAL SOURCE RECORDS
Resolve every generated source ID.
These IDs are the stable references used by current tool outputs. Official authorities sit beside versioned, clearly labelled local-method records; publication and effective dates remain separate because publication does not make every provision operative.
